Define the period and data scope

State the stay dates, booking window, included channels and whether the figures represent gross bookings, net bookings, occupied rooms or revenue. Consistent definitions make later comparisons meaningful.

Compare like with like

Seasonality, weekday mix, events, inventory changes and closures can distort a simple before-and-after view. Choose a relevant comparison and disclose material differences rather than forcing a convenient percentage.

Separate observation from explanation

First describe what moved. Then discuss plausible reasons such as pricing, availability, content, demand or channel activity. This keeps assumptions visible and makes the next review more useful.

Protect hotel and partner information

Property identities, booking volumes, revenue figures and channel-level commercial data should remain private unless the relevant partner has approved a public case narrative in writing.

Finish with the next operating question

Reporting earns its value when it changes attention. Record the dates, channels or guest segments that need review next, the action being taken and when the effect will be examined.
